The new faces of acoustic metal have arrived and they're heading to Europe. YouTube has already been destroyed, now it's time for a venue near you!

Thanks for taking the time to do this with us. First of all, can you tell us about WhiskeyDick?

WhiskeyDick is Fritz and Reverend Johnson of Ft. Worth Texas. We are and have always been a two piece acoustic country metal band playing music that we like to call YEEHAW Music! We are celebrating 10 years in 2015 and have released 7 original albums and are looking forward to releasing album #8 with Rusty Knuckles Record Label also in 2015.

There aren’t many acoustic metal bands out there, why did you feel that was the way to go? Especially when you can hear so much influence from the louder side of metal?

We didn't plan or pre-meditate being an acoustic duo it just kind of happened that way. We both derive from METAL backgrounds with only playing in metal bands before WhiskeyDick. The acoustic aspect I think came from me and Reverend jamming on old country tunes at parties after playing shows with our Metal bands and also at house parties just for fun. We're just two guys with acoustic guitars that have a very load and proud sound taken from our Metal influence and Country roots.

Your single ‘Drunk As Hell’ has now got over a million views on YouTube, how does it feel to be an internet sensation?

It is actually a huge honor to have that many folks listen to any of our music. That's an awesome feeling!

How do you go about writing tracks? Everyone we speak to seems to do it differently.

We feel we have a unique writing style as every WhiskeyDick song written is a mutual understanding of what direction we would like a song to go. With that .... We both write lyrics and music and tend to feel that a song isn't finished until we both put our own feeling into it. In short ....We write as a unit

You’re heading out a huge European tour, including 11 dates in the UK, what can people expect from your shows?

Lots of energy and raising hell! A DAMN GOOD TIME!

You don’t appear to have a Birmingham date on your tour, how come you’re missing out on the birthplace of metal?

Actually we were booked to play near Birmingham but our show for that date was cancelled and we are now available for a Birmingham show that night. We would absolutely love to play the birth place of METAL!!!!!!

You’re leaving Europe just as the festival season kicks in, do you plan on coming back for it or is the festival circuit one you might hit in the future?

We are planning on returning in the late summer/ early fall....We really enjoy the festival aspect of touring and look forward to playing as many festivals as possible.

What else have you got planned for 2015?

We return to the States and continue touring until late summer and then plan to return to Europe for another tour. We also will be releasing our compilation Album 'Welcome to YEEHAW County"'on this tour and have another one on the table to be released later in 2015.

What’s been the highlight for WhiskeyDick so far?

Touring Europe!!

Just a couple more before I let you go, we’re asking everyone in 2015, who is the greatest band in the world?

PANTERA - Metal!!

Finally, I saw a YouTube comment claiming you look like the “evil Brothers of the guys from Mythbusters”, is there any response to that?

Haha. I think it's funny as hell!! I'm a fan of the show so it's kind of a twisted compliment. Thank You for the interview!!!

HELL YEEHAW ~ Fritz

Thanks for taking the time to talk to us and we look forward to the new album later this year.
