We've reviewed their album, caught them live and now it's time to have a chat. We speak to Harriet about what Black Moth have been and are going to be up to.

Hello there, thanks for taking the time to talk to us. Firstly, for those unacquainted with Black Moth, can you tell us what you're about.

We're about having a good time all the time. Except when you're having a really bad time. We're also about hard, heavy drums, killer riffs and lyrical absurdity.

You seem to have had a relatively quiet 2015, what have you been up to?

Do we really?! Well we've done a tour of the UK with Amplifier… we put out a single (“Looner”) on flexidisc with screenprinted artwork by yours truly and a fucking ridiculous video by the amazing Ben Fowley. Most recently we played a couple of DREAM shows with one of my favourite bands in the whole world ever- L7!!! We're also in the process of training up an awesome new lady guitarist in preparating for our UK/Europe tour with The Sisters of Mercy. All the while we have been cracking on with writing for album #3!

Well apparently it hasn't been that quiet then, haha. You played Camden Rocks at the back in May, closing out the day at The Black Heart, how was that?

Insane. None of us knew what to expect, but the venue was rammed, the crowd were awesome and it was honestly one of the most fun shows we've played. Loved it.

Did you get chance to check out any other bands throughout the day?

Only our pals Hawk Eyes as we arrived too late to catch anything else but they slayed as always.

Black Moth is 5 years old this year, enjoyed it so far?

Aww are we? That's lovely. Oh yes it has been quite the ride.

What would you say has been the highlight?

It's hard to say… the feeling of accomplishing an album you're really proud of is great, especially when it lands well. Then again the buzz of playing live is what we really chase…. Our tour with Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats last year was so much fun, but playing with L7 was a lifelong dream come true.

You've released 2 albums, what would you say is your favourite song of yours?

Oh that's hard… they're all awful! Haha erm… I love playing the Undead King of Rock'n'roll… and Looner.

You’ve played shows in various cities and countries, where has been your favourite place to visit?

We always have an amazing time in Germany!

And what is there on the Black Moth bucket list?

I'd like to tour more of the world… so far we haven't taken the show on the road beyond Europe!

What plans have you got for the rest of 2015 and beyond?

I think I already answered this but we have a tour with Sisters of Mercy in October, a few more one off shows then we're probably going to crack on with writing for the next album so we can get in the studio next year!

Thanks for taking the time to talk to us, best of luck for the future.
