This Introducing feature focuses on the rock music of Foxer. They are a four piece rock band currently plying their trade across the South of this wonderful country and have already got some big support slots under their belt off the back of their debut EP Decoy.

Their sound touches on so many bands it would almost be pointless to name any of them. But you really get the feeling that they're not just trying to copy what's been before, the aren't putting the fickle 'personal spin' on it that a lot of modern bands can be found guilty of doing. You feel like they're taking all the music they've ever loved and making a sound that pays homage to it all without ripping it off.

They're a couple of years into their journey and seem to be going about their business the way a band should these days. Searching out shows whenever and wherever they can and busting their balls during each set to ensure they live long in the memory.

Just one listen to their track The Great Train Robbery and you'll hear that they aren't trying to reinvent rock 'n' roll, at the moment they're just trying to carve out their little piece of it.

Debut EP Decoy showcases their talents well. Vocally they're excellent and some of the guitar playing on show here is deserving of more attention than it is getting. The EP is pretty varied and a very easy to listen to piece of work, one that can easily get stuck in your head. Match this up with a confidence not only in themselves, but in their music and you could be hearing a lot more of Foxer over the coming years. Although that all depends on you really.

We had a bit of a chat with Sam to find out where Foxer came from and where they're headed:

Hi Sam, thanks for talking to us. Can you introduce Foxer and what you're about?

Foxer are a rock band built from the rubble of a Queens Of The Stone Age and Foo Fighters tribute act. Musically like-minded and with a sound that is tighter than size 12 feet in Action Man's shoes and has more energy than an Energizer Bunny convention, we play our version of Rock and Roll.

Do you worship the Fox god in a similar way to Babymetal and their fans?

There is something out there. What it is, we just don't know. All we know is Foxer's gonna get ya... ^,,^

What are the driving forces behind the band? Global domination?

Music. As a unit we've got more to offer musically than a lot of acts doing well currently, and I think the common goal is to be the best we can be, to a point where the music pays the bills.

Have you gigged much? How are you enjoying performing as a unit?

Since our birth in 2013 we've gigged solidly to a point that we are about as tight a band as you will see, and our chemistry makes playing inFoxer one of the best uses of time around. Support slots with Catfish and The Bottlemen and Brant Bjork help too...

What's been your favourite show so far?

Mine personally (Sam) was supporting Kassassin Street at a sold out Eastney Cellars in Portsmouth. Amazing night with a band that is going places, keep an ear out!

Anywhere you're gagging to play?

Koko Club, Portsmouth Guildhall, anywhere with a stage and a crowd!

The UK is a land of festivals and approaching festival season, which festival/s do would you love to play?

We're playing Victorious Festival for the 3rd consecutive year in August. It keeps getting bigger and better and really puts Portsmouth on the festival map. Of course Reading/Leeds, Glasto would be nice. Soon...

What are the plans for 2015?

For more people to know our name and hear our groove.

Where can people get your music?

Any parting words for the MNN readers?

Thanks to you guys for having us, thanks to anyone that's taken the time to read this and check us out. See you soon. ^,,^
