Over the years Essex four piece InMe have enchanted us with their unusual sounds. In 2014, the band surprised their fans by announcing a studio date to begin work on the first instalment of their three piece concept album. The complete work is to be titled ‘Trilogy’, with each album to interrelate lyrically and musically. The band have really worked hard to engage fans with this project. To be part of Trilogy, all fans have to do is visit the bands Pledge Music page here and help fund the album. Typically for such a well regarded group of musicians they are donating 5% of their pledges to Save The Children.

Part one of Trilogy is named Dawn, and explores the themes of birth and early childhood. The album kicks of with the song Creation: Amethyst. It’s a powerful starter, with clever analogies in the lyrics. From the very start, InMe have never strayed far from the unique sound that is theirs, and this song is a perfect example that even after all these years the band are able to write something fresh, but still keeping their classic InMe sound.

Trilogy really is something to be excited about, with Dawn already containing some of the bands best work yet both vocally and instrumentally. This really shows in tracks like Beloved: Seraphia, Seraphia and Hymn: Ivory Elder, which both contain catchy riffs and the sort of melody you want to bellow out for your neighbours four blocks away to hear.

For the bands first release since 2012 InMe show no signs of stopping. Trilogy is set to be something ambitious and potentially risky, but Dawn is already proof that they will deliver something emotionally fulfilling from start to finish.
